ISIC UK Alive Profile Terms of Use
- Introduction
1.1 These Terms of Use explain your rights and responsibilities when using the ISIC UK Alive Profile service, operated by Student Discount Cards Limited Ltd (“ISIC UK”).
1.2 By using the Alive Profile, you agree to these Terms and confirm that you understand how we process your personal data as explained in our Privacy Policy.
1.3 When you accept these Terms, you enter into a contract with ISIC UK for the free provision of Alive Profile services unless we notify you separately about any paid services.
- Operator and Contact Details
2.1 The Alive Profile is provided and operated in the UK by Student Discount Cards Limited Ltd, registered in England and Wales (Company Number 08873775), with the registered office at Merseyway Innovation Centre, 21-23 Merseyway, Stockport, SK1 1PN.
2.2 You can contact us by post at the address above or by email at help@isic.org.uk.
- Who Can Use the Alive Profile
3.1 The Alive Profile is available to individuals holding ISIC, ITIC, IYTC, or AliveID cards, including digital IDs issued by educational institutions.
3.2 If you are under 16 years old, you must have consent from your legal guardian to use the service.
- What the Alive Profile Does
4.1 The Alive Profile stores and shows your issued ID cards and passes in the ISIC UK mobile app.
4.2 With your permission, it may also show relevant content and let you receive selected marketing communications and participate in promotions or contests.
4.3 Key features include:
- Viewing valid ID passes digitally
- Updating personal details with ISIC UK
- Generating digital ID passes
- Using digital passes for access control if supported by your school (Alive App Key)
- Accessing popular discounts and saving favourites
- Receiving news and notifications based on your preferences
- For graduates, receiving messages from your school’s graduate club (where applicable)
4.4 The full functionality of the ISIC UK Alive App is governed by separate terms available on our website.
4.5 You must only have one Alive Profile and can only assign each digital ID pass to one profile. ISIC UK reserves the right to delete duplicate profiles and restrict misuse.
4.6 If your digital ID pass is not displayed correctly, you can add it manually by entering its number. For technical issues contact help@isic.org.uk.
- Creating and Activating Your Alive Profile
5.1 To create an Alive Profile, you must provide accurate information including your name, date of birth, and phone number, and agree to these Terms and the processing of your personal data. Your data from the ISIC UK app will be transferred to the Alive Profile system.
5.2 If you are under 16, your legal guardian must confirm consent before activation.
5.3 Your profile remains active indefinitely unless deleted by you or ISIC UK.
5.4 Use of ID passes must comply with the separate Terms of Use for ID Passes and Cards.
5.5 ISIC UK does not guarantee that services will always be error-free or uninterrupted.
5.6 How your digital ID pass is used within your school is managed by the school, not ISIC UK.
5.7 Your card can be used to access benefits in the ISIC UK and international benefit networks as described in the ID passes terms.
5.8 You must protect access to your mobile device and profile with secure features like passwords.
5.9 If your device is lost or stolen, change your login details immediately and contact ISIC UK to block your profile if needed.
5.10 You must provide true and accurate information — false information is not allowed.
- Age Verification
6.1 You agree any data you provide, including your date of birth, is accurate.
6.2 If you are under 13, your legal guardian must provide their email and confirm consent within one hour for you to use an Alive Profile.
- Other Features and Rules
7.1 You can request to transfer your profile data between countries if studying or working abroad, so that you only need to register once.
7.2 You can manually add missing ID passes by entering their number in the app.
7.3 You are not allowed to use one digital ID pass in multiple profiles or have multiple Alive Profiles.
7.4 ISIC UK can cancel your pass assignment or block your profile if these rules are broken or if you misuse your passes.
7.5 You must upload a photo to use your digital ID pass. Photos are approved within 5 working days and must include ID verification.
7.6 The Alive App Key lets you use digital passes as chip cards for access to facilities at schools that support it. Schools decide what functions are available and control access rights.
7.7 For questions about the App Key or school access, contact ISIC UK or your school’s student office.
- Use of the Alive Profile
8.1 You must read and follow these Terms of Use carefully.
8.2 You agree to provide truthful and accurate information.
8.3 Protect your device and account access. Report any security risks to ISIC UK immediately.
8.4 You must not harm other users or damage ISIC UK’s reputation.
8.5 You cannot interfere with the technical workings of the profile or copy its contents without permission.
8.6 The Alive Profile content is copyright of ISIC UK.
8.7 You are responsible for any damage caused by breaking these Terms.
8.8 ISIC UK is not liable for any damage caused by your use of the Alive Profile or any unavailability.
8.9 ISIC UK may perform maintenance that makes the service temporarily unavailable.
- Deleting Your Profile
9.1 You can delete your Alive Profile anytime by signing into your profile on the ISIC UK website and following the “Delete” instructions.
9.2 ISIC UK may delete or change profiles for reasons including breach of Terms, fraud, or if you ask to stop data processing.
9.3 Each user can only have one Alive Profile.
9.4 Users stay signed in permanently for ease of access; you must secure your device and password.
9.5 If your device is lost or stolen, change your login details immediately and email help@isic.org.uk to block your profile.
9.6 If you forget your password, a reset link will be sent by email upon request.
9.7 Your contract for the Alive Profile lasts until ended by you or ISIC UK.
9.8 After deletion, you will no longer access your digital ID; a physical card may still be used if applicable.
9.9 Termination takes effect no later than 7 working days after notice.
- Other Important Information
10.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be handled in UK courts.
10.2 ISIC UK is not responsible for any downtime or unavailability of the Alive Profile.
10.3 You cannot claim compensation for damage caused by unavailability.
10.4 ISIC UK is not responsible for content on third-party websites linked from the Alive Profile.
10.5 These Terms come into effect on 10 November 2025. ISIC UK may change these Terms by notifying you at least two weeks before changes take effect. If you disagree, you can end your use of the services before the changes begin.
