General Terms and Conditions for Ordering ISIC / ITIC / IYTC Cards – ISIC UK

  1. Introduction

1.1 These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) explain how ISIC UK sells and issues ISIC, ITIC and IYTC cards through our online ordering system, and your rights and responsibilities when you buy from us.

1.2 ISIC UK is operated by NUS Alive Limited, registered in England and Wales (Company number 08873775), with the registered office at:

Merseyway Innovation Centre, 21-23 Merseyway, Stockport, SK1 1PN, United Kingdom.

1.3 Cards purchased via www.isic.org.uk are issued directly by ISIC UK and not by schools, universities, or other organisations.

1.4 These Terms apply only to orders placed through the official ISIC UK ordering system.

1.5 You must provide accurate information and documents, and meet our eligibility rules (see section 5). The main purpose of the card is to confirm your identity and status. Discounts are an additional benefit but are not guaranteed.

1.8 These Terms take effect from 11 August 2025 and may be updated — we will communicate any significant changes.

  1. Key Definitions
  • ISIC UK: Student Discount Cards Limited Ltd
  • ISIC App: The official ISIC mobile application
  • ISIC App Profile: Your personal account in the ISIC App
  • Digital ID: Your virtual card shown in the ISIC App
  • Physical Card: An optional printed version of your Digital ID
  • Holder: The person the card is issued to
  • Buyer: The person who places and pays for the order
  1. Ordering and the Contract

3.1 Only individuals can be card Holders. Orders can be placed by the Holder or someone on their behalf.

3.2 Card use is governed by the ISIC Rules. By placing an order you agree to follow these.

3.3 How it works:

  • Choose the card type you’re eligible for.
  • Complete the online order form.
  • Upload the required documents and photo.
  • Select your payment method.
  • Once payment and eligibility checks are complete, we confirm your order by email.
  • Digital IDs are activated in the ISIC App; Physical Cards are posted to you if ordered.

3.4 What you are buying:

  • Digital content (a Digital ID) that confirms your identity and eligibility.
  • A Physical Card is optional, and can only be ordered with a Digital ID.
  • Discounts and benefits may be available through your card, but these are not the main product and can change.

3.5 Technical requirements:

  • You’ll need a compatible mobile device, internet access and the ISIC App to use a Digital ID.
  • We can’t guarantee uninterrupted service but will try to fix any issues promptly.
  • We take standard security measures and ask you to keep your login secure.

3.6 Updates:

  • We will provide any necessary updates to keep your digital content working for a reasonable period or as required by law.
  • If you do not install updates, we cannot be held responsible for resulting issues.
  1. Price, Payment and Refunds

4.1 The cost of each digital or physical ISIC, ITIC or IYTC card, along with any applicable delivery charges, is stated clearly on our website at the time of application.

4.2 All prices shown include VAT (where applicable).

4.3 Payment methods accepted are:

  • Credit or Debit Card
  • PayPal

4.4 In the event of any discrepancy, the prices published on the ISIC UK website will always take precedence.

4.5 Payment must be made in advance. We do not accept cash or cheques.

4.6 If you do not meet the eligibility requirements, we will refund your payment to the original payment method. If your account is outside the UK, your bank may charge you fees.

  1. Eligibility

ISIC – Available to full‑time students at recognised UK educational institutions, as well as individuals undertaking a government‑approved apprenticeship. You must provide proof of student or apprentice status, dated within the last two months.

ITIC – Available to currently employed, qualified teaching professionals in recognised UK educational institutions. Requires a signed and dated employment confirmation letter or certificate.

IYTC – Available to anyone up to and including the day before their 36th  birthday. Requires proof of age.

  1. Verification and Personal Data

6.1 You must give us true, accurate information and documents. Supplying false or misleading information may result in your application being refused or cancelled without refund.

6.2 We may ask for additional documents to verify your eligibility.

6.3 We process your personal data in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. See our Privacy Policy for details.

  1. Ordering Process – Step by Step

7.1 Place your order online at www.isic.org.uk.

7.2 Upload:

  • ISIC – Proof of student status (dated within the last two months) and proof of age are required.
  • ITIC – Proof of current employment as a teacher and proof of age are required.
  • IYTC – Proof of age is required.

7.3 Provide a passport-style photo.

7.4 Choose your payment method and (if wanted) a Physical Card.

7.5 You can submit an order without all documents uploaded, but you must provide them within 30 days.

  1. Your Consumer Rights

8.1 Your contract is covered by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

8.2 Because our card is personalised, we are outwith the 14 day cooling off period laws, however we do honour this for virtual cards. Please notify us within 14 days of purchase so that we can refund you. For physical cards, please return the physical card within 14 days of receiving it to ‘ISIC Support, Student Discount Cards Limited, Merseyway Innovation Centre, 21-23 Merseyway, Stockport, England, SK1 1PN. All physical cards are subject to a £3.99 cancellation fee.

8.3 Complaints can be made to ISIC UK.

  1. Delivery
  • Digital IDs: Activated in the ISIC App within two working days of payment and verification.
  • Physical Cards: Posted within five working days. Standard postage is free; 1st Class postage is £1.
  • We are not responsible for delays caused by Royal Mail or other carriers.
  1. Changes to These Terms

We can update these Terms at any time for legal, regulatory or operational reasons. If the change is significant, we will let you know before it takes effect.
